This the current project of the Ugly Fly Guys’ bass supremo Stevie Kincaide sees the man in question take up the six-string on a journey into the world of surf.  The garage sensibilities are still there with a fondness for low-fi and primitive drums, but there is no doubting the man’s fondness for surf-licks which he delivers with some aplomb. There is also some unmistakable humour in here, from the ‘Brand New Cadillac’ intro of ‘Hot Coal Stroll’ that develops into ‘Pipeline’ before venturing into ‘Miserlou’, whilst the next track, ‘Fentanyl Fishman’, sees Mr Kincaide churning out the riff to ‘You’re Going Home in a F*****g Ambulance’. Elsewhere there is some splendid organ work. This joyous journey into the domain of low-fi surf gets an enthusiastic thumbs up from me
