This album takes the listener on a musical journey through time starting at the birth of R’n’R and stopping off at significant and influential musical genres along the way. The lyrics are well created and the musical variety travels from traditional 50s, to Punk, to Pop and back again without losing the distinctive and unique identity of The Zipheads. This is a very clever album delivered passionately by a band relishing their new lease of life. – Callum Ross

Plas Johnson, ‘In Session’

This compilation highlights the work of one of the great session men from the golden age of rock and roll, the mid 1950s to early 60s. Plas Johnson was not only famous in his own right, but he was also a member of the “Wrecking Crew”, the top group of American session musicians. The CD highlights Plas’s versatility as he plays the different sub genres of rock and roll from the rockabilly of Sonny Lowery’s “Goodbye Baby Goodbye” to the wild R&B rocker “King Kong” by Big T Tyler. Add to the mix the pop rocker “Pink Shoe Laces” by Dodie Stevens and raunchy Duane Eddy instrumental “Moovin’ ‘N’ Groovin’” and you can get to understand the range of Plas’s talents and his role in the history of popular music. With 33 tracks for just £8.99 this is a great bargain too. – Jailhouse John
