Can you tell me when and where you were formed?
Screamin’ Sins are based in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. The earliest recordings of the band date back to 2016 with the release of a primitive EP titled “Deadly Seven”, which is now extremely rare. The band revitalized and solidified their sound with the addition of Landon Dane Martin, taking on drum duties in the winter months of 2024. The band have since released two EPs titled “Haven For The Damned” in July 2024, “Living Nightmares” in April 2025, and the single “Love You To Death” featuring Jen Blackwood in June 2025. Screamin’ Sins has also independently produced 4 music videos: “Damned”, “Sinners Club”, “Six Feet Under”, and “Living Dead”.
And the personnel?
Paul Sin: Lead vocals, guitar
Vanessa Von Voodoo: Electric bass, vocals, screams
Landon Dane Martin: Drums

Could you tell me a bit about your influences?
We draw from a wide range of influences, and this comes through in our music. We are most closely aligned with the genres of Psychobilly & Horror Punk, although we draw from early Rock & Roll, Punk, Rockabilly, Garage & Blues; almost anything goes, and all creative ideas are explored to create our sound.
How familiar are you with the European Psychobilly bands?
Psychobilly is a worldwide family, much of whose history comes from Europe, particularly in the UK, Germany, Denmark etc. We love all our European Psycho brothers and sisters.
I am, of course, familiar with the Creepshow and the Brains, but is there much of a rockabilly or psychobilly scene in Canada?
Yes, Psychobilly in Canada is significant and has a rich history. Along with the Creepshow, The Brains, we also have The Matadors, Gutter Demons, Deadcats, Raygun Cowboys, and Bloodshot Bill, to name a few. We really try to promote Canada as having a place in the history of Psychobilly worldwide.
What sort of shows do you play? Which sort of bands do you typically support?
We have a string of shows coming up in October that will include dates supporting The Brains, which we are looking forward to.
What has Jen been up to since she left the Creepshow? How difficult was it to tempt her out of psychobilly retirement?
Jen released a handful of songs under the title Hellcat & The Prowl shortly after the Creepshow, which we loved. She is an artist, has a family and owns a tattoostudio in London, Ontario. We took a chance reaching out to her; she loved the song immediately, and within a matter of days, she booked herself in the studio. When we received the track, we were all blown away by the results. She took the song to another dimension and took some bold, creative liberties, which we all loved! I guess the timing felt right, and it all came together very quickly. It has been a real honour and pleasure to collaborate with her; she has been amazing.
I have listened to ‘Love You to Death’ and I like it very much. Can you tell me when and where it was recorded and who produced it?
We recorded “Love You To Death” as part of our EP “Living Nightmares”, and it wasn’t until after the release that we saw the potential of the song being a male/female duet. We worked with Terry Benn at Switzerville Sound Retreat in Newburgh, Ontario, Canada. Terry engineered both our EPs; he is also a film & TV composer, which we feel adds to the dynamic of our sound. Jen recorded her vocals with her brother Ian Blackwood at Limegreen Studio, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Ian is also an extraordinarily talented individual, working in the realms of music, acting, photography, engineering and podcasting.
Have you got an album in the pipeline?
After the recent release of “Living Nightmares” and “Love You To Death”, we will commence writing new material, music video work, and touring. We are also planning to release a vinyl record that will combine both EPs into one full-length LP.
What does your gigging schedule look like? Any plans to come to Europe?
We would love to tour Europe, but have not yet had the opportunity. If any promoters would like to work together, please contact us at screaminsins@gmail.com
